Striving for Our Nation's Security, Jun 25th
America’s energy, economic and national security are becoming increasingly intertwined. American citizens and soldiers do not need to look further than the events in the Middle East to appreciate the importance of being in greater control of our energy resources – from battles in the past years to the recent rise in gas prices.
America’s need for energy is growing, and we need to create policies that encourage energy efficiency, conservation and development of all energy resources – including oil and natural gas.
Energy and government - two things that impact us on a daily basis and two things that when combined inappropriately can be problematic. The demand for energy to light our rooms, heat our homes and drive our cars continues to increase. When the government decides to address this increased demand for energy with over-regulation and increased taxes we will all feel it.
The reality is that government cannot punish this industry without punishing the users of its products; and that is all of us. The government can appropriately address the importance of energy in our lives, and that is what the Georgia Energy Forum is all about.
