Georgia Energy Quick Facts:

The Elba Island liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal is one of 5 LNG import sites in the United States.

Coal is the primary fuel for electricity generation in Georgia.

Together, Georgia’s two nuclear power plants typically account for about one-fourth of the State’s electricity generation.

The industrial sector is one of the largest energy-consuming sectors in the State, in part because Georgia is a leader in the energy-intensive wood and paper products industry.

Georgia’s electricity generation and consumption are among the highest in the Nation.
